Playlist - Brett Anderson from Suede's "Blood songs"

With Suede releasing new album Bloodsports on 18 March, claret has clearly been on frontman Brett Anderson's mind. For a Playlist he's picked us a host of songs that all have grizzly connotations... Plus get our new issue, Q#321 out now, for an exclusive interview with the band (including pictures up atop London's Shard) and a review of the aforementioned album.

David Sylvian - Forbidden Colours
"One of my favourite songs of all time... the blood of Christ or the beat of my heart, so emotive and beautiful. Ryuichi Sakomoto's haunting, pulsing arrangement still hasn't been equalled."
Editors - Blood
"A fantastic song from their excellent debut."
Killing Joke - Love Like Blood
"As a teenager I would drown myself in this song's epic gloom."
U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday
"Proving you can mix politics and pop and still sound cool."
Foals - Blue Blood
"Melody, rhythm and grace..."
The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
"The opening track from Let It Bleed. Atmospheric and urgent it still sounds fresh over 40 years on."
Primal Scream - Blood Money
"Metallic and uncompromising. Excellent stuff."
The Kills - Satellite
"More dark, brooding indie noir from the ever excellent Kills from the album Blood Pressures."
Dirty Pretty Things - Blood On My Shoes
"How could a band that contained both Carl Barat and Didz Hammond not be excellent?"
Bob Dylan - It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)
"From my favourite Dylan album Bringing It all Back Home."
